Bathing Suit from Leggings

Your probably thinking "Waaatttt" well yes...I will show you how to make a super cute bathing suit from leggings.
**Don't want to read the video is here--}} DIY

You'll need
-Leggings
-scissors
-Fabric glue or needle and thread

Start by putting on your leggings and marking off where you will cut. For this part you will basically be cutting your leggings into shorts(cut slightly longer). Next you can hem up the shorts so it looks neat and sew or use fabric glue. With the other part of the leggings you cut off you simply sew the widest part inside the waist band of the shorts. Sew the end of the leggings together and that part should rest on the back of your neck.

Thats it!!! Again link to the video is above, I tried to explain as best as I could! The cool part about this is you can create a unique bathing suit thats one of a kind!

DIY American Flag shorts

If you aren't sick of American Flag shorts, good for you... Keep reading lol.

We've probably seen every variation of the American Flag shorts but of course I had to give you another option and way of creating them.

What you'll need
-shorts
-scissors
-fabric pastel sticks ( Pastel Dye Sticks )
-iron

Again, this is just another option so don't bite my head off. I know you can just use fabric.

First step is to make sure shorts are clean and free of debris. Now what I did was print out some star shapes, and cut them to make it a stencil. I used that to guide me and make the stars as even as possible but you can wing it if your nice that. I also wanted big stars but you can do what ever size you'd like.

I then took my blue pastel and proceeded to color in the star stencils. After I was done with my stars I started on my stripes. For the stripes I just took a book, and used the edge to create straight even lines. Then I filled in the lines with my pastel to create the stripes.

*Tip* Make sure the shorts have a hard surface between the legs holes. It helps a lot when coloring the shorts. You want the color to be as rich as possible.

Now the last step is important and if your using the fabric sticks then you should have saw this on the instructions. Take a piece of paper ( a black and white notebook size should be good), place on top of the design and then iron the paper. If your paper is not big enough just move it around. Iron on top of the paper until the whole design has been ironed. This step is going to help basically seal in the color and when you wash your shorts the  design doesn't wash right off!!

High Waist Shorts

So if you don't know how to make high waist shorts you've clearly been living under a rock oooorrrr  you just don't care... and probably just buy them-_-....  Anyway in case you were wondering here ya go.

All you'll need are some jeans and scissors .

Now were not actually sewing and making them from scratch were basically just cutting. BUT the trick is you will need "Mom Jeans" not just any jeans.  These are the jeans that have a never ending crotch. So when choosing jeans to cut the longer the crotch looks the more high waist they will be. Try them on if possible before you buy or cut them.

Thrift stores are great for having these type of jeans. Brands like Levi's, Guess, Wrangler, Bongo and all those throwback brands will definitely have "Mom Jeans"
Not to mention how dirt cheap they'll cost at a thrift shop! * Birdman Hand rub *

I've also found that the old school brands tend to have heavier and sturdier material, so they always end up looking great distressed.  Also at thirft shops you'll be able to find that acid wash( REAL ACID WASH lol), some unique colors and jeans that you won't find in other stores. Which means they'll be one of a kind :)

Check out my YouTube where I have a super simple video on high waist shorts. Oh and while your there I show you some ideas on how to design your shorts!

DIY Button Earrings

I'm really not an accessory type of girl... Like really at all! Some simple stud earrings and a nice watch is enough for me. But I couldn't resist trying these fabric button earrings. Of course I made them to sell them on my Poshmark( for orders contact me ) and here's how its done.

You'll need
-ANY fabric of your choice
-Cover buttons (Cover Button Kit)
-glue(I used e600) (E6000)
- earrings backs ( Clear Rubber Backs )
-earring posts ( Earring Posts )

I know it seems like a lot of stuff compared to my other DIYs but I promise it is not costly AT ALL. Below are the products I used and  links to where I purchased them.

So depending on the size or button snaps you purchased depends on how big you cut the fabric you have. You want to have a little access fabric because cutting it too small may result in the fabric coming off.

Your button set should come with a small rubber circle piece. This will help you apply the fabric and the snap that goes behind it to hold the fabric in place. Then taking your glue apply the earring post to the back of your button. Let it dry and that's it!! You've got cute one of a kind button earrings.

Sounds confusing? If you purchased the cover button kit you'll know what I mean. Otherwise you can check out my video

- Collared shirt(any color)
-Spikes(Silver Spikes )
- E600 (E6000 )
-Scissors(or something to poke holes with)

I decided to put spikes on the collar and the pocket. Start by marking little dots where you want your spikes at. Then take your sharp object and make small holes on the dots you drew. Apply some glue on the spike screw before you screw it on and then screw on spikes. That it!!

Heart Pattern Shorts

Simple simple simple! That's what these shorts are! I saw some heart pattern jeans on Pintrest and got inspired ;)

What you'll need
-Shorts
-Rub a Dub Fabric Marker- Buy Here--}} Sharpie Rub-A-Dub Laundry Marker

I basically winged it and drew hearts with the marker which was very easy. But you can also use a heart stencil. I chose to make small hearts but do what you like. I drew them on the front and on one back pocket. I don't have a video for this yet and it won't really require one but I may make one anyway. Also I distressed my shorts a little by cutting slits and then washing them.

FYI if your on instagram follow me and tag me in any of my DIY'S you try!

DIY Lace and Studded Shorts

I went through a crazy "stud everything" phase. I still love studded clothing, I just don't do much DIY'S with them like I used too. But here's some lace and studded shorts you can try!

Things you'll need
- shorts
-scissors
-lace
-e6000 glue, fabric glue or needle and thread
-studs

As always I won't leave you hanging here's the links to the items I used. For this DIY I used Aileen's fabric glue, but e6000 will work or you can choose the non lazy way and sew lol.

Link to Aileens fabric glue-Aleene's Fabric Glue
Link to e6000- E6000
Link to studs- Silver Studs

First you can add the studs if you choose to. I just applied them randomly to one side of the shorts. Before you apply the studs it's a good idea to put some form of glue on the spot first then put the stud on. This just adds extra support so the studs won't come off. Evernthough the studs have prongs from my experience they still tend to come off without glue. I used e6000 for that part.

Next I took a piece of lace which I cut from a shirt I dont wear( you can purchase at a fabric store). I measured the piece making it slightly bigger than the part of the shorts I was applying it too. Then you can choose to sew or glue like I did ;)

See kids it's that easy!

DIY Fringe Shirt

Got a Tshirt, scissors and about 10 minutes....

Here ya go!

Super simple and cute DIY  Fringe Shirt

STEPS
\I cut off the seams from the sleeves and the bottom part of my shirt. I also made mine an off the shoulder shirt (optional) by cutting off the neckline.
Next I cut slits from the bottom of the shirt going up to desired length. Then you simply stretch out all the slits you cut, tie little knots on the end and your done!!

TIPS
*Make fringes longer by cutting the slits higher.
*Add some beads to the ends for a little extra flair

As usual  the video of this DIY is on my YouTube --DIY FRINGE SHIRT

Spiked Beanie and Gloves

Winter is definitely around the corner! So if you want a cute and simple way to spice up those plain hats and gloves through some spikes on that bishhhhh lol
I basically used spikes, e6000 glue and gloves and beanie of my choice. The gloves and beanie were $1 each and I purchased the spikes and glue on amazon. Click titles if you want to purchase :)

E6000®

SZD 100pcs/set 9.5mm Silver Cone Spikes

I made tiny hole in the area of the glove and beanie where I wanted the spike at. Pushed the flat screw part through the back and before screwing in the spike part I applied E6000 glue on the screw part. The glue just assures that your screws will stay put, continue until you are satisfied with your pattern. It's super simple!

I also have a video on youtube showing you in case the instructions were confusing ;)

Tribal shorts

So the whole distressed, crazy print bleached shorts fad took over summer... And its still not letting up. Personally I don't wear much shorts unfortunately I hate my legs. Buutttttt I love creating them!

Although fall is here and winter is right around the corner, you can always prep for next summer and start spicing up those shorts! You will definitely see a lot of DIY shorts  over in these parts lol and here is my take on some tribal print shorts. All you need are some shorts, a fabric marker and imagination (aka Google) Or better yet YouTube since I've actually made a video on DIY shorts using a fabric marker... Shameless plug :)Anyway here they are, super easy and fun to make. These are just using the fabric marker, which by the way you can use on all fabric and actually wash. The marker won't run or ruin your clothes when you wash them either. Oh did I mention how damn cheap they are to make?

So I basically winged it and just drew a tribal design on my shorts. You can either print out a tribal design and use as a stencil or look up a design and copy or use for inspiration. Take your time drawing the design because once you draw a line there's no turning back and it won't erase.

Have fun guys, and the link to my YouTube is DIY TRIBAL SHORTS
